Hello all!
My name is Sarah and I am a mobile massage therapist in the OC/LA area. I graduated from National Holistic Institute in April of 2021.
People have always asked me why I wanted to become a massage therapist. I had always worked retail/food and beverage/office jobs, and while I liked the work none of those jobs were what I saw myself doing long term and none of them were fulfilling to me. I have always had a passion for helping others, and I have always wanted to make a difference in this world, and I wasn't doing that.
I began researching career paths, it literally started with a Google search. "Careers for people that want to help people" was what I typed into the search bar. After a little bit of looking around, I saw "massage therapy". Now, I was not sure what exactly massage therapy was, I thought it was just rubbing people with lotion, and as I began to look deeper into it, I thought that maybe this was a good fit for me.
I began researching massage therapy programs near me, and stumbled upon National Holistic Institute. I went to their website and saw that they were holding a free open house for potential new students. I signed up. I didn't know what to expect but I thought it would be a good way for me to see if this was what I wanted to do.
I walked into that open house, and felt something I has never felt before: I felt like I had my calling. During that open house, we began doing body work on our peers. It clicked for me! I fell in love with massage therapy that day!
I am so glad I found a career in which I can help people and help make a difference. I love what I do and I feel that translates through my work. I love helping and working with my clients, personalizing their session to fit their specific needs.
I look forward to connecting with you.
Health and wellness,
Sarah
